Built on Decades of Earned Trust

Two platforms. One reputation.
All built on trust and integrity, one project and relationship at a time.

Where We Started. What We've Built.

What started as engineering, installing, and servicing some of the most recognizable buildings in Atlanta, has expanded into real estate development, student housing, advisory services, and more.

Today, Mallory & Evans operates two platforms, Mechanical and Development, with over $10 billion in completed projects and a team of more than 200 professionals. We serve hospitals, higher education buildings, multi-use facilities, and more. The standard that has built this reputation seventy years ago is the same one that runs the firm today.

Our History

FOUNDED IN SCOTTDALE

What began in Scottdale, Georgia in 1956 was a focused mechanical contracting and engineering firm, founded by Lewis Mallory and William "Bill" Evans to serve commercial and industrial clients throughout the state of Georgia.

From the start, the company built its reputation on complex HVAC and mechanical systems, setting a standard of precision and accountability that still defines the brand over seventy years later, in the same community where it began.

DIXON LEADERSHIP BEGINS

The 1970s brought a defining shift as leadership passed from the founding generation to John G. Dixon and the Dixon family, who would guide the company for decades as its president and principal executive.

Dixon kept the engineering discipline that built the firm while setting a far broader vision, laying the groundwork to grow from a respected regional contractor into something much larger across new industries and markets.

DIVERSIFICATION AND GROWTH

During the 1980s, Mallory & Evans expanded well beyond mechanical contracting, moving into real estate development, multifamily housing, public-private partnerships, aviation infrastructure, and advisory services, each built on its core construction and engineering strengths.

This was a deliberate strategy to create a vertically integrated enterprise, one that could control more of the development process and turn a regional contractor into a true development and infrastructure company.

ONE BILLION MILESTONE

By the early 2000s, Mallory & Evans had completed more than $1 billion in projects, expanding throughout the Southeast and establishing itself as a major force in development and infrastructure across the region.

Specialized divisions and affiliated development companies took shape during these years, maturing a vertically integrated model that combined construction, development, operations, and advisory services under one coordinated platform built to manage projects end to end.

NEXT GENERATION LEADERSHIP

The 2020s marked a generational transition as Johnny Dixon, son of John G. Dixon, became Chairman and CEO, leading a diversified platform spanning development, aviation infrastructure, advisory services, and mechanical enterprises across the country.

Philip Roy was elevated to President and COO, overseeing daily operations and signaling the firm's evolution from a family-led mechanical contractor into a professionally managed, diversified enterprise with national-scale project capabilities.

AN INTEGRATED ENTERPRISE

Today, Mallory & Evans operates as an integrated infrastructure enterprise built on two platforms: Development and Mechanical. Together they represent more than $10 billion in completed projects since the firm's founding.

Led by Johnny Dixon and Philip Roy, the company pairs national-scale capabilities with the same precision, dependable execution, and long-term commitment that defined its earliest years in Scottdale, Georgia.
